Meet the Privateers

The Privateers are Aubrey Moore, Brian Deo and Paul Trattle. The trio have been playing music together for over twenty-five years and draw their inspiration from an eclectic mix of artists from 50's doo-wop to current popular music, all with an acoustic sound and steeped in harmony. The group's name, The Privateers, was borrowed from one of the songs they sing, Barrett's Privateers (made famous by Stan Rogers). As a Privateer by definition is one who takes plunder and riches from others for their own, it seemed a fitting name for a band that plays other artists' music.

Aubrey Moore

Aubrey plays acoustic guitar and sings. Aubrey is known within the group as the Jack of All Trades and is the Master of Many.

Brian Deo

Brian plays acoustic guitar, sings and plays the djembe and cajón. As a music therapist, and the only member with perfect pitch, Brian ensures the group doesn't stray too far off their intended path.

Paul Trattle

Paul plays acoustic 6 and 12 string guitar, plays bass and sings. Paul spends most of his days helping to educate the youth of tomorrow.
